About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Chesterfield for a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is confident delivering Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4, while also being able to support students with KS2 learning gaps, which are common within specialist SEND settings.
Working within a supportive and rewarding environment, you will play a key role in helping students with a range of additional needs develop confidence, resilience and essential mathematical skills.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4
- Confidence adapting lessons to meet varying abilities, including addressing KS2 knowledge gaps
- A passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEND)
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A patient, flexible and nurturing approach to teaching
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Differentiate learning to support students working below age-related expectations
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider school team
- Contribute to the personal, social and academic development of pupils
