Onsite IT Engineer – Reading, Berkshire
Job Summary
Freestyle TS is a growing MSP with an exciting future, delivering the best customer service experience to our clients. As part of our growth, we are looking for an onsite engineer with a track record of maintaining exceptional levels of customer satisfaction and consistently completing support tickets accurately and efficiently.
You will take ownership of day-to-day IT support at the client’s Reading office, providing onsite technical support, managing tickets, and maintaining IT and AV systems.
A key part of the role is working closely with the client’s nominated point of contact, providing regular updates on issues, priorities, and planned work. You will act as their primary IT liaison onsite while ensuring a high standard of service is maintained across all users.
The role is split between onsite work in Reading and some Freestyle office working, depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary onsite IT representative for the client
- Provide face-to-face support to end users
- Work closely with the client’s nominated point of contact, providing regular updates and managing priorities
- Log, manage and resolve tickets using a web-based system
- Troubleshoot and support hardware, software and AV issues
- Install and configure IT equipment and applications
- Escalate issues to internal teams or vendors where required
- Maintain accurate records, stock levels and asset information
- Support ongoing maintenance and improvements across the IT environment
- Work closely with internal technical teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Candidate Profile
You’ll be confident working in a customer-facing IT support role and comfortable acting as the onsite representative for a key client.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work directly with the client’s nominated contact and end users on a daily basis.
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, takes ownership, and enjoys solving technical problems while delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Experience
- Experience in an IT support or onsite technician role
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience working directly with customer stakeholders or nominated contacts
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and common business systems
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and AV issues
- Experience using a ticketing system
- Good organisational and time management skills
