About Our Client
Our Client is a values-led organisation supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and complex needs across Northern Ireland. Using a person-centred, housing-led and harm reduction approach, they work alongside people to help them build stability, improve their wellbeing and move towards independent living.
This service supports adults experiencing homelessness and alcohol dependency, providing a safe and supportive environment where residents can access practical support, healthcare, housing advice and opportunities to develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living.
About the Role
As a Night Support Worker, you'll be part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team providing high-quality overnight support to residents. You'll help ensure the service runs safely and effectively while promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
Working closely with colleagues, you'll build positive relationships with residents, respond to their needs during the night and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and support residents, visitors and external agencies in a professional and respectful manner.
- Carry out overnight health, wellbeing and building checks, ensuring the safety and security of the service.
- Support residents with practical daily living tasks, including meal preparation, laundry and maintaining their living space where required.
- Assist with personalised support plans, encouraging residents to achieve their goals and develop independent living skills.
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports and service user documentation using IT systems.
- Complete reception, administration and general building management duties.
- Report maintenance issues and ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues during handovers and participate in team meetings and training.
Essential Criteria
- 3 GCSEs (Grade A-C), including English and Maths, or equivalent.
- At least 1 year's paid relevant experience or 2 years' relevant voluntary experience.
- Understanding of homelessness, alcohol dependency and the challenges faced by vulnerable adults.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management.
- Good IT, communication and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of statutory and voluntary support services is desirable.
Additional Information
- Must be able to work a flexible 7-day night shift rota.
- Enhanced Access NI check required.
- NISCC registration is required (or must be obtained during the probationary period).
