Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to oversee Children’s Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care tailored to the needs of children and young people. We already run one successful children's home which is rated Good by Ofsted.
This home is a unique service a highly therapeutic stabilisation aimed at the sole focus of supporting young people out of unregistered placements.
This will be a seriously unique role and the appointed candidate will be involved in the development of this home from the start
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Children’s Home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and care standards.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans that promote the well-being, development, and safety of each child or young person.
- Supervise and support staff team members, providing leadership, guidance, and training to maintain high standards of care delivery.
- Oversee medication administration processes in accordance with legal and organisational policies.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are rigorously followed; promote a culture of safety and vigilance within the home.
- Maintain accurate records related to care plans, incident reports, staff rotas, and other documentation required by regulatory bodies.
- Liaise effectively with families, social workers, health professionals specialising in dementia care or senior care when appropriate for older children or young adults with additional needs.
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels efficiently to ensure smooth operation of the home.
- Promote continuous improvement through staff development programmes and quality assurance initiatives.
- Manage and co-ordinate the on site clinical team
Skills
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE NEED TO BE WILLING TO ADAPT TO WAYS OF WORKING THAT MAY BE DIFFERENT TO OTHER HOMES
- Proven management experience within a childrens home
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent supervising skills to motivate and develop staff teams.
- In-depth knowledge of child welfare legislation, safeguarding protocols, and regulatory standards for children’s homes.
- Experience in developing and implementing individualised care plans tailored to children’s needs.
- Able to think out of the box and apply creative solutions to complex situations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Compassionate approach combined with professional integrity and strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with managing budgets and resources efficiently within a regulated
- environment.
- Commissioning experience preferred
