The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a flagship Build-to-Rent (BTR) high-rise development in Cardiff. This large-scale residential scheme will deliver high-quality rental homes alongside premium resident amenities, offering a fantastic opportunity to be part of a modern, design-led urban project.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account
- Manage subcontractor packages including procurement, payments, and variations
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Prepare and submit accurate interim valuations and final accounts
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure cost control and value engineering
- Support reporting to senior management on financial performance
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential or high-rise developments, ideally within Build-to-Rent schemes
- Strong understanding of multi-unit residential construction and finishing standards
- Experience with standard forms of contract such as NEC or JCT
- Excellent commercial and analytical skills
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable
- Experience working on large-scale city-centre residential schemes
- Familiarity with amenity-rich developments (gyms, co-working spaces, communal areas)
- Membership (or working towards) with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
