Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking for a static role with genuine career progression?
We're recruiting for an electrically qualified engineer to join the on-site engineering team at a prestigious facility within Cambridge Science Park.
The site is currently operating with a manageable workload, providing an excellent environment to settle into the role before the facility becomes fully operational next year. As the site grows, so will the opportunities for career development and technical progression.
One of the biggest benefits of this role is the opportunity to progress into an LVAP (Low Voltage Authorised Person) position. This is entirely optional, but engineers who choose this route will receive full training along with a salary increase.
The Role
As the site's Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and fault finding across a modern commercial facility.
Working alongside a professional engineering team, you'll ensure all electrical systems remain safe, compliant and operating efficiently while providing excellent service to the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems
- Respond to reactive maintenance and electrical breakdowns
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs
- Maintain lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution and electrical infrastructure
- Complete electrical remedial works and minor installation projects
- Carry out routine statutory inspections and compliance checks
- Update CAFM systems with completed works and maintenance records
- Complete all maintenance documentation accurately
- Liaise with clients, contractors and the wider engineering team
- Support mechanical and general building services maintenance where required
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Previous experience within Facilities Management, Building Services or Commercial Maintenance
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Desirable
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
- Previous LVAP experience
- Experience working within commercial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or critical environments
