Day shift
White Gables Care Home is a 55 bed Home. We are looking for a permanent maintenance handyman/woman to join our hardworking team on a full time contract. Rate of pay £13.50 to £14.50.
We are currently recruiting someone to work 40 hours per week.
MAIN DUTIES
- To carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home
- To be on-call for emergencies, attending the home as needed or as appropriate to give advice to other staff over the telephone
- Decorating
- To supervise outside contractors
- To carry out all “safety” checks ie fire alarm/drill/water etc
- To test and check all portable electrical appliances that residents bring into the Home, following training/guidance.
- To ensure all equipment is periodically maintained and attend to emergency maintenance work as required.
- To understand and ensure the implementation of the Home’s Health and Safety policy, Emergency and Fire Procedures
- To attend all training sessions as required, specifically statutory training including manual handling, first aid and fire
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ideally previous experience in Care Home maintenance
· Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
· Driving licence essential
· Parking available
