We are looking for Quality Control Technician's to support the department
Job Purpose
The QC's would be responsible for ensuring all products meet final product specifications through routine checks, monitoring, record-keeping, and prompt action on any deviations in temperature, quality, hygiene, or compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all planned and systematic actions are taken to maintain the food safety, legality, integrity, and quality of all products produced on site in accordance with the HACCP plan.
- Record product weights every 30 minutes.
- Monitor products during production and liaise with operators where deviations from standards occur to ensure corrective action is taken.
- Quarantine sub-standard product effectively in accordance with procedures.
- Ensure all finished products in cold stores are compliant and in saleable condition.
- Monitor and maintain cold store hygiene standards.
- Manage the cold store quarantine area.
- Report any non-conformances to management.
- Complete and verify all relevant records.
- Complete work assigned by the Technical Supervisor or Manager.
- Perform any other duties reasonably requested by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferably educated to bachelor's degree level.
- Basic knowledge of process and operations is required before commencing the role.
- Experience in food manufacturing would be advantageous.
- Required training must be completed before working independently.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in monitoring, recording, and verifying product information.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control requirements.
- Ability to identify deviations from standards and take appropriate corrective action.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with operators and management.
- Ability to work independently once trained and follow site procedures consistently.
