Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and efficient Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative support within our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing correspondence, preparing legal documents, and maintaining case files, ensuring smooth and effective operations. Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns.
- Preparing and lodging AP1 applications with HM Land Registry.
- Handling Land Registry matters, including requisitions, registrations, and title updates.
- Assisting with exchange of contracts and completion of residential property transactions.
- Preparing completion statements and supporting post-completion work.
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, estate agents, and other third parties.
- Ensuring compliance with the firm's policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably within Residential Conveyancing.
- Knowledge of the conveyancing process from instruction through to post-completion.
- Experience submitting SDLT returns and AP1 applications.
- Familiarity with HM Land Registry procedures and post-completion work.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, reliable, and client-focused.
- Able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
