Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities
As Head of Valuation, you will provide strategic leadership and authoritative oversight of valuation practice across RICS globally. You will shape standards, influence policy and act as a recognised technical authority, ensuring RICS continues to set the benchmark for professional excellence, ethics and consistency in valuation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic direction for valuation practice, aligning standards and guidance with organisational priorities and public interest objectives.
Oversee the development and evolution of valuation standards and guidance, including the Red Book, ensuring global relevance and consistency.
Provide expert technical advice on complex or high‑risk valuation matters to senior leadership, governance groups and regulatory functions.
Represent RICS externally as a recognised authority, engaging with regulators, governments and industry to influence policy and promote standards.
Contribute to professional governance, supporting boards, committees and regulatory activity to uphold professional integrity and public trust.
Lead and develop a high‑performing team of specialists, fostering collaboration, capability development and continuous improvement.
About You
You are a senior valuation professional with deep technical expertise and strong leadership capability. You are confident operating at executive level, influencing stakeholders and representing the profession on complex, high‑profile issues.
Skills & Experience:
Chartered Surveyor (MRICS/FRICS) or equivalent professional qualification.
Significant experience in valuation, professional standards, regulation or policy environments.
Strong technical expertise across valuation principles, markets and global practice.
Proven ability to influence at senior and executive level within complex stakeholder environments.
Excellent communication and presentation capability, able to articulate complex issues clearly.
Credible, resilient and values‑driven, with a strong commitment to ethics, professionalism and public interest.
