The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club (RCYC) is a vibrant, riverside club, family orientated and friendly, located in Burnham on Crouch, an hour east of London.
In response to our growing membership and business profile we are seeking to recruit a Bar Manager who together with the Catering Lead, Chef and Office teams will represent the Club front of house and will provide a high standard of customer service to both club members and to all who attend outside functions. Responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and managing the bar team to deliver friendly, welcoming and efficient service for members, visitors and external users.
- Recruiting, training and developing the team to high standards of customer service
- Liasing with the Catering FOH Lead, Head Chef and Office Manager on the day to day running of the FOH side of the Club
- Full bar management responsibility which includes ordering, stock control, rota management, staffing and running the bars.
- Efficient cellar management
- Duty manager responsibilities whilst delivering functions
- Ensuring maintenance of industry health and safety standards
- Opening and closing duties
- Responsibility for financial performance within advised criteria
The ideal candidate will be:
- Hands on, customer focused with great experience of high level, professional bar and hospitality delivery
- An organised and flexible person who has a passion for delivering quality and driving high standards
- An individual who is looking to further their career and accept a challenge to take both this and the Club offer to a higher level
- An excellent communicator with good people skills and a positive, service orientated attitude
- Able to work as part of a team with efficient management of time and resources
- An experienced cellar manager who holds a personal licence
- Able to train and mentor staff and maximise achievement within a team
- A basic understanding of how a private members’ club operates, an understanding of sailing would be advantageous not not essential
Due to the nature of Club activities and the peaks that occur throughout the season, the working hours need flexibility but are based on a 40 hour week. Concentrated mainly over weekends and evenings, with summertime being busier than winter.
We are offering a salary in the region of 35 k pa, according to experience.
