Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar/Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations within our Locals Pub. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining the cleanliness of the building and food safety standards, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and keeping our social media and advertising sharp and up-to-date. We are one of five pubs ran by a family, we all pride ourselves on bringing the community pub feel to the locals. Our Pubs, the Market Inn, boasts a small warming atmosphere, featuring three log burning fires, comfy bar area and a warm smiling greet from the person behind the bar.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of bar and restaurant staff, including serving, food preparation, and kitchen operations
- Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness are maintained in accordance with health regulations
- Oversee food production processes, including cooking and culinary presentation to meet quality standards
- Manage reservations, organise seating arrangements, and optimise customer flow during busy periods
- Lead team management efforts by training, mentoring, and motivating staff to deliver excellent service
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for supplies, and manage inventory efficiently
- Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Implement promotional activities and optimise sales opportunities within the venue
- Organise and support events held
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws and health & safety regulations
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Extensive restaurant experience with knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety protocols
- Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively
- Background in hospitality roles such as serving or barista experience is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, food production, and culinary practices is desirable
- Previous hotel or bar management experience will be considered a plus
- Strong leadership qualities combined with excellent organisational skills are essential for success in this role
Pay: £14.50 per hour
