We are looking for a skilled and motivated Functional Safety Engineer to join Arm's GPU Safety team.
In this role, you will help deliver functional safety solutions for next-generation GPU products targeting automotive, robotics, and other safety-critical applications. Working closely with architecture, hardware development, verification and software teams, you will play a role in the development of safety concepts, safety analyses, and safety work products throughout the product lifecycle.

As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will:
- Develop and review functional safety work products in accordance with ISO 26262.
- Create and maintain Safety Plans, Safety Cases, Safety Manuals and related documentation.
- Perform safety analyses including FMEA, DFA, FTA and FMEDA.
- Support hardware and software teams in deriving and implementing safety requirements.
- Write, review and manage safety requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in Functional Safety audits, assessments and reviews.
- Support tool qualification activities where required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Arm's Functional Safety methodologies and processes.
- Collaborate across multiple engineering teams to ensure safety objectives are successfully achieved.
- Good understanding of computer architecture and modern SoC design principles.
- Knowledge of functional safety concepts and standards, particularly ISO 26262.
- Experience in RTL design of complex ASICs, IPs or SoCs.
- Experience with safety analysis techniques such as Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Dependent Failure Analysis(DFA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), or FMEDA.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment.
- Experience with GPU, CPU or other complex processor architectures.
- Familiarity with verification methodologies including System Verilog, UVM or formal verification.
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g. Cadence or Synopsys).
- Knowledge of requirements management tools such as Jama, DRM or similar.
- Exposure to both hardware and software functional safety development.
- Experience supporting external or internal safety assessments and audits.
You will work with some of the industry's leading experts in GPU and functional safety technologies, helping shape the future of safety-capable computing platforms used in automotive and other critical markets. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to innovative products while developing deep expertise in one of the fastest-growing areas of semiconductor engineering.
