Deputy Nursery Manager – Little Woodlands Day Nursery, Minsterworth
Little Woodlands Day Nursery in Minsterworth is looking for a passionate, forward‑thinking Deputy Manager who believes in the power of Early Years education and is committed to delivering exceptional care and learning for every child in our setting.
We’re searching for an inspirational leader with at least two years’ experience in a leadership or managerial role within childcare — someone who brings warmth, confidence, and a genuine desire to help a team thrive. About the Role
This is a blended position, combining supernumerary leadership with hands‑on room practice ideally leading in our baby room. You’ll be a visible role model, supporting staff, championing high standards, and ensuring our nursery runs smoothly day to day. Strong knowledge of funding and operational processes is essential.
You will also act as Deputy DSL and become the nursery SENCo, so experience in safeguarding and SEND is key. A full job description is available on request.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience managing or leading a team
- Brings dedication, resilience, and a genuine passion for Early Years
- Can confidently deputise for the Manager and oversee daily operations
- Leads with positivity, clarity, and a commitment to best practice
- Has strong knowledge of SENCO and safeguarding requirements or be willing to train in SENCO
- Wants to become a valued, central part of a team working together to give children the very best start in life
Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification (minimum)
- At least 3 years’ experience in a nursery environment
- Enhanced DBS and two references
- Experience in Forest Schools would be a benefit
