The role
London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Sports Development Officer.
This position offers the successful candidate with the opportunity to inspire the development of our students, staff and community through sport and physical activity. Working as part of the Sports Development Department, this position will be responsible for coordinating, developing and growing our student sports offer, which includes Sports Scholarships, Sports Clubs, Recreational Sport, and Pop-Up Sport. Additionally, there will be responsibility for supporting the coordination of the Sports Ambassador Scheme, Coach Education Programme, Community Sport Programme, and a range of Events & Initiatives.
The postholder will develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal departments, external organisations, and key stakeholders, to develop and grow the sports and physical activity offer at the University.
What you will bring
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

Good understanding of the sporting landscape and the structure and relationship of the organisations that operate within it, with a focus on HE sport.
- Experience of coordinating & developing a sports & physical activity offer (preferably in HE Sport)
- Experience in workforce development (relevant for; Club Committee; Student Leadership; and Sports Ambassador Scheme development)
- Proven ability to maintain and develop excellent relationships with internal departments, external organisations, and key stakeholders
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and customer-service services which meet the needs of a diverse community. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Experience in demonstrating the impact of work through data collection and KPI reporting, surveys, qualitative and quantitative analysis, reports and more.
The ideal candidate will be degree educated, be highly motivated, and be able to work on their own initiative, proactively engaging students and community members in sports and physical activity programmes at the University. Furthermore, a keen eye for detail to deliver, develop and grow high-quality programmes is essential.
