Overview
We are seeking a diligent Order Picker/Warehouse Operative to join our team, in a part time temporary role - with the potential to become a permanent position, after a successful trial period for the right candidate. The role is Monday to Friday - part time, hours 10:00am to 2:30pm.
The Role:
You will play a key role in ensuring customer orders are accurately prepared, packed and distpatched efficiently from our warehouse
Previous warehouse experience and familiarity with warehouse management systems are advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick items from stock, using order sheets, according to order specifications using manual handling equipment and warehouse management systems
- Pack and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring all items are correctly labelled and securely packed
- Load and unload goods from vehicles using appropriate equipment
- Monitor stock levels by stocking shelves efficiently and maintaining organisation within the warehouse
- Inform the manager of any low inventory and replenishing stock where appropriate.
- Assist in shipping & receiving processes, including verifying incoming deliveries and updating inventory records
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a warehouse envoronment is advantagous
- Ability to operate forklift trucks/lifting equipment safely is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate order picking and stock management
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and load/unload tasks throughout shifts
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of quality control
- Knowledge of Chinese advantageous, but not essential
