We’re on the lookout for a skilled CNC machinist. I am recruiting for a position working across both CNC milling and CNC turning, where you’ll take ownership of components from programming through to production. You’ll play a key role in maintaining quality, improving processes, and supporting the wider team.
Location: Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire
Hours: Rotating Shift PatternMonday – Friday 06:00am – 2pm / Monday – Friday 2pm – 10pm
Salary: £38,000 Per Annum

Duties to Include:
· Programming, setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines (Mazak, Matsuura)
· Creating, editing and optimising CNC programs for efficiency and quality
· Taking ownership of first-off and complex components through to full production
· Selecting tooling, fixtures, feeds and speeds to suit materials and tolerances
· Interpreting engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances
· Troubleshooting machining and programming issues, implementing solutions quickly
· Supporting and mentoring junior machinists and operators
· Contributing to continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives
· Maintaining machines, tooling and a safe, organised working environment
Skills/Experience Required:
· Proven experience as a CNC Machinist (milling and/or turning)
· Experience with programming and setting (Mazak/Matsuura advantageous)
· Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling
· Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
· Confident problem-solver who can work independently
· Positive attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills.
