Central Recruitment are a Recruitment agency based in Blackburn and we are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious FLT (Forklift Truck) Driver to join our clients team for the evening shift from 3pm to 11pm. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations through safe and accurate forklift operation, materials handling, and shipping and receiving tasks. Your expertise will help ensure the smooth flow of goods, maintain inventory accuracy, and support overall warehouse productivity. Due to working a shift the salary is paid as followed:
3pm-10pm - £12.91 per hour
10pm-11pm - £15.49 per hour
This is due to the night shift rate taking into play after 10pm.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift trucks to load, unload, move, and position materials within the warehouse
- Manage materials handling tasks with precision, including stacking, organizing, and storing goods efficiently
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory movements, update records, and ensure accuracy
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation
- Perform heavy lifting safely when handling bulky or heavy items during daily operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a busy warehouse setting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory control and data entry
- Ability to handle materials safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting requirements
- Good basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures to ensure accurate processing of goods
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to safety compliance
