Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to food safety standards. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital part in meal preparation, kitchen organisation, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily kitchen activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and basic dishes under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Help with serving food to customers or guests in a courteous and efficient manner
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with storing leftovers safely and disposing of waste appropriately
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure timely service delivery
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, meal preparation, and food safety practices is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and general kitchen experience will be beneficial
- Experience in serving or front-of-house roles is a plus but not mandatory
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills are highly valued
