We’re looking for a practical, experienced Property Care & Maintenance Operative to join our team on a temporary basis, providing additional cover during a period of long-term sickness and supporting an upcoming property renovation project.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding role covering a wide variety of property and estate maintenance. Strong joinery skills are essential, alongside experience in general repairs and maintenance. Experience in roofing, groundworks, drainage, building works and basic plumbing would also be beneficial.
You’ll need to be comfortable with manual work, lifting and moving materials, working at height and outdoors in all weather conditions. We’re looking for someone reliable, practical and able to work independently, who takes pride in doing a job properly.
You don’t need to tick every box — if you have strong practical skills, a good work ethic and are happy turning your hand to different jobs, we’d be keen to hear from you.

Responsible to: Property Manager
Key Responsibilities :
- Support upcoming property renovation and refurbishment projects, carrying out a range of practical works alongside colleagues and other trades.
- Undertake groundworks, drainage repairs and minor building works across our properties and wider estate.
- Carry out joinery work, including repairs to doors, windows, fencing and other timberwork.
- Complete a varied range of general property repairs and maintenance across residential, estate and farm properties.
- Carry out minor roofing and basic plumbing repairs, where appropriate and within your experience.
- Undertake the physical demands of the role, including manual handling, moving materials, working at height and working outdoors in all weather conditions, while following safe working practices.
You will Have:
- Good practical experience in property maintenance, joinery, construction or a similar hands-on role.
- Strong joinery skills and confidence carrying out a range of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Experience of groundworks, drainage and general building works, or a willingness and ability to develop these skills.
- The ability to use hand and power tools safely and competently and work independently when required.
- A practical, problem-solving approach, with good attention to detail and pride in your work.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A reliable and flexible approach, with the ability to work well as part of a wider team.
- The ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role, including manual handling, working at height and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Desirable
- Experience of basic plumbing repairs, such as taps, toilets, pipework and minor leaks.
- Experience carrying out minor roofing repairs and working safely at height.
- Previous experience of groundworks, drainage or small-scale building works.
- Relevant trade qualifications, certificates or machinery/access equipment tickets.
- Experience working within an estate, rural, construction or property maintenance environment.

Pay: £12.71-£16.00 per hour
