Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, prepare high-quality beverages, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where attention to detail and a passion for coffee are highly valued. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Please note that this role is 35 hours per week, Tuesday - Saturday.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Take customer orders accurately and process transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, equipment, and seating spaces in accordance with food safety standards.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
- Provide friendly and attentive service to all customers, addressing their needs promptly.
- Follow food safety protocols at all times to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when required, such as assembling snacks or light meals.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Basic food preparation skills are advantageous.
- Good basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills.
