Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Musical Theatre / Singing Teacher to join our vibrant team on Sundays. This role is perfect for someone who loves inspiring children and young adults through the magic of musical theatre and singing. You will design engaging lessons that foster creativity, build confidence, and develop vocal skills in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to nurturing young performers’ talents while ensuring a fun and inclusive experience for all students.
Our Theatre Kids class will run 12.30pm from September, and are hoping to offer one to one singing lessons either before or after the class!
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver dynamic musical theatre and singing lessons tailored to diverse age groups, primarily on Sundays.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity, self-expression, and teamwork among students.
- Incorporate elements of dance, acting, and vocal technique to develop well-rounded performers.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs or varying skill levels.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their singing and performance skills effectively.
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies, ensuring a respectful learning environment.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in educational or performance settings, ideally including preschool or early childhood education.
- Demonstrated ability to teach singing, musical theatre, or related performing arts disciplines.
- Familiarity with special education practices and accommodations for students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Experience in tutoring or coaching young performers in areas such as creative writing, physical education, or math is a plus.
- Knowledge of childcare principles and behavior management techniques to foster a safe and nurturing environment.
- Previous experience teaching physical movement or dance as part of musical theatre instruction is advantageous.
