Overview
We are seeking a highly organised Medical Secretary to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience of using EMIS, a good sound knowledge of medical terminology, and have worked as a Medical Secretary within the NHS.
You must be accurate, have good communication skills and be a team player.
The position available is part-time, approx. 15 hours per week. Shift times are negotiable
Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive secretarial support to clinicians
- Managing patient referrals, and correspondence
- Handling confidential patient information in line with data protection regulations
- Liasing with patients, healthcare professionals, and external organisations
- Maintaining accurate and up to date medical records
- Process insurance reports, DVLA medical forms and subject access requests
Experience
- Previous experience in a primary or health care setting is preferred
- Experience of working in a secretarial role is essential
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
