Join our dynamic team as an Electronics Test Technician and become a vital contributor to the development and quality assurance of innovative electronic products. In this role, you will perform detailed testing, troubleshooting, and analysis of electronic circuits and assemblies to ensure they meet rigorous quality standards. This position serves as an opportunity for individuals pursuing a technical career in electronics testing and manufacturing. The successful candidate will be trained to perform diagnostic and functional testing of electronic products, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards.
Your working week would be Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm and Friday 8:30am to 2pm.
Pay: National living wage
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional and diagnostic testing of electronic assemblies and finished products using test equipment and procedures provided.
- Identify faults and carry out basic troubleshooting on electronic components and circuit boards, escalating complex issues to senior technicians or engineers.
- Follow detailed test procedures, work instructions, and quality standards to ensure consistent and accurate testing results.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of test results, faults found, and corrective actions taken.
- Assist in the preparation of products for final inspection, packaging, and dispatch.
- Participate in the goods-in and goods-out processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by offering suggestions for process or quality enhancements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in accordance with company health and safety policies.
- Support other areas of production as needed, including assembly and ad hoc duties as required by supervisors.
Training and Development
- Receive on-the-job training in the use of test equipment, fault-finding techniques, and quality control systems.
- Gain experience working with a range of electronic products and manufacturing processes.
- Progressively develop skills to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Be mentored by experienced technicians and engineers throughout.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small components and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and test procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative in a hands-on environment.
- Basic computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Office, data entry)
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical principles (A-level, BTEC or equivalent preferred).
Qualifications and Experience
- No prior work experience is required, but any previous hands-on experience in electronics or similar subject is advantageous.
Working Conditions
- Based in a manufacturing environment with exposure to electronic components, tools, and test equipment.
- PPE and safety training will be provided as required.
