The Merchant Division at A L King Roofing runs an extremely busy yard at its Melksham premises. It has a long-established customer base including many local roofing contractors and the public, who use the business to source a wide range of roofing supplies.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and fit yard operative, ideally with proven experience in a similar role/environment.
Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Working outdoors in the yard and warehouse
- Manual handling
- Unloading vehicles
- Picking, checking and loading vehicles according to paperwork and requests from Managers
- Ensuring the yard and warehouse are kept in a safe and tidy condition
- Assisting customers, other colleagues and Managers
- Forklift operation
- Answering the telephone as and when required
- Ad-hoc duties as directed
The successful candidate will be:
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual work
- Reliable with a great work ethic
- Competent to work independently and show initiative
- Able to multi task and prioritise busy work loads
- Conscious of Health and Safety procedures
- Forklift licence an advantage
- Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7.00am until 5.00pm . Weekend work on Saturday mornings may be available, paid as overtime, when fully trained.
