This is a full-time, on-site role for a Mechanical Fitter located in Shildon, United Kingdom. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing machinery in accordance with company standards. Day-to-day tasks include fitting machine components, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues, and ensuring machinery is functioning efficiently and safely. The machines to be worked on include, lathes, milling machines, grinders, radial arm drills etc. Collaboration with a team of professionals to meet project deadlines and adhering to safety standards are key aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Experience in Machining and Fitting of mechanical parts and components
- Proficiency in Preventive Maintenance and general Maintenance practices
- Strong knowledge of working with Machinery and manufacturing tools
- Ability to work independently and within a team in an on-site environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Technical certificates or training in mechanical engineering or a related field is desirable
- Health and safety training or certifications would be an advantage
