NDE Solutions Ltd is seeking two experienced and motivated Shift Leaders to join our manufacturing operation in Cullompton. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who can drive performance, support teams, and ensure production targets are achieved in a safe and efficient environment.
Salary£32,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Available Shifts
We are recruiting for two permanent full-time positions:
- Shift Leader: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm
- Shift Leader: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 10:00pm
Both roles are based on 37.5 hours per week.
About the Role
As a Shift Leader, you will have responsibility for the overall performance of your shift, ensuring safe, efficient and controlled delivery of production in line with operational plans. You will provide leadership to operators and team leaders, maintain production flow, resolve issues in real time, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of shift performance, output and delivery targets
- Monitor production performance throughout the shift and take corrective action where required
- Allocate labour and resources to maintain efficiency and minimise disruption
- Lead effective shift handovers, communicating priorities, issues and production status
- Act as the first point of escalation for operational issues beyond Team Leaders
- Ensure issues are quickly contained and directed to the appropriate support functions
- Supervise, support and develop Operators and Team Leaders
- Manage attendance, timekeeping and day-to-day performance matters
- Maintain standards of safety, behaviour and performance
- Drive adherence to standard operating procedures and processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and encourage problem-solving within the team
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or operational leadership role
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to make effective decisions under pressure
- Proven ability to manage priorities and solve problems in real time
- A proactive and accountable leadership style
- Understanding of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
