Experienced CNC Miller Machinist
Location: Rugby
Salary: £37,000–£39,000 per annum, depending on experience
Shift: Days, Monday to Friday
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:45pm, Friday 7:30am–12:30pm
The Role
Our client, an established precision engineering business based in Rugby, is looking for an Experienced CNC Miller Machinist to join their day shift team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating a DMU 80 machining centre with Fanuc-based controls, producing high-quality, precision-engineered components.

Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate a DMU 80 machining centre.
- Work with Fanuc-based controls.
- Program, set and operate CNC milling machines.
- Undertake online programming, including following, editing and making changes to existing programmes.
- Work with G-code based controls.
- Experience with 4-axis milling.
- Read, interpret and work accurately from detailed engineering drawings.
- Produce components to tight tolerances and required quality standards.
- Carry out in-process checks and ensure work meets specification.
- Identify and resolve machining issues where required.
- Work independently and use initiative to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and other members of the production team.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful CNC Miller Machinist will ideally have:
- Minimum 10 years' engineering experience, with substantial CNC milling experience.
- Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machinery.
- Fanuc control experience.
- Experience with online programming, including following and modifying existing programmes.
- Experience working with Mill Plus / Mill+ controls would be advantageous.
- Experience operating 4-axis machinery.
- The ability to confidently read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work on their own initiative.
Package & Benefits
- £37,000–£39,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 5% pension contribution.

- 25 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays.
