We are a growing company with approximately 75 staff, specialising in the design, development and manufacture of a range of electronics lighting control products. We also offer full product build and PCB assembly services for electronic manufacturing to a wide range of industries. As a customer focused SME, we pride ourselves on flexibility, technical capability, and delivering high‑quality products on time. We are now seeking a Production and Planning Manager to help drive operational performance and support our continued growth.
The Role
As the Production and Planning Manager, you will play a key role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring products are built to the highest standards and delivered on time. You will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, optimising resources, and ensuring operational efficiency across the business. You will thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced SME environment where teamwork is essential for success. Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring output, quality, and safety targets are met
- Lead, motivate, and support production teams to achieve operational targets
- Monitor capacity, materials, and labour availability, adjusting plans where necessary
- Work closely with the Engineering, Procurement, and Sales teams to ensure effective communication and workflow
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Maintain accurate production data, KPIs, and reporting as required
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, or production management, ideally within electronics or a related manufacturing sector
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Competent user of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Experience working within an SME is highly beneficial
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or Continuous Improvement is an advantage
