The Opportunity
Are you the person who takes things apart just to see how they work? Comfortable with a screwdriver, patient with fiddly components, and happier fixing something than replacing it?
No previous printer experience? No problem! We're looking for a practical, hands-on technician with a genuine mechanical aptitude to join our growing team. Whether you've spent your career fixing appliances, servicing vehicles, repairing vending or gaming machines, maintaining electronics, or working on telecoms and cabling installations – if you're the type who enjoys stripping something down, finding the fault, and putting it back together properly, we want to hear from you.
We'll teach you everything you need to know about our printers and specialist software. What we can't teach is your natural feel for how things fit together and your genuine enjoyment of solving practical problems.
Join us as we continue to revolutionise school printing across the UK with our innovative fixed-price, unlimited colour printing solution.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll become Eco Printers' hands-on problem-solver in the field, ensuring our clients' equipment runs reliably day after day. Working closely with our Client Success team, you'll be the person schools and offices trust to keep their equipment in top working order.
You'll visit schools and offices to install, service, and repair equipment – opening up machines, replacing components, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults, and getting things running smoothly again. You'll take pride in a proper fix, not just a quick patch.
Think of yourself as the technical guardian of our client relationships – combining practical, hands-on skill with excellent service to keep our promises of reliable, hassle-free printing.
This Role Is Perfect If You:
- Have genuine mechanical or hands-on technician experience (any industry – appliances, vehicles, machinery, electronics, telecoms, or similar)
- Are comfortable using hand tools and stripping down/rebuilding equipment
- Enjoy diagnosing faults and figuring out how things work
- Are patient with detailed, fiddly component-level work
- Can work independently at client sites
- Have good customer service skills and enjoy face-to-face interaction
- Can explain technical issues to non-technical people in plain terms
- Stay calm under pressure when equipment needs fixing
- Take pride in delivering a proper, professional job
- Are willing to learn printer-specific technologies and software
Your Day-to-Day Could Include:
- Visiting clients to install, service, and repair equipment
- Opening up machines to diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical faults
- Replacing components such as rollers, fusers, and drums
- Performing preventive maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly
- Troubleshooting connectivity and basic network issues (full training provided)
- Documenting service visits and technical solutions
- Liaising with our Client Success team to ensure smooth handovers
- Building relationships that turn clients into long-term partners
You'll Fit Right In If You Value:
- Building positive teams – You enjoy collaborating and supporting colleagues
- Delighting customers with service – Going the extra mile feels natural to you
- Being humble, honest and having integrity – You build trust through your actions
- Being adventurous while doing the right thing – You embrace challenges positively
What's In It For You:
- Full-time, permanent position with a company pension
- Monday to Friday schedule, 8:00 to 17:00
- Comprehensive training on our printing solutions
- Full training on Managed Print Service software and specialist applications like PaperCut
- A supportive team that values your contribution
- Continuous professional development opportunities
- The satisfaction of keeping schools' equipment running smoothly
We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven hands-on technician experience (e.g. appliance repair, vehicle maintenance, electronics repair, telecoms/cabling installation, vending or gaming machine servicing, white goods engineering, or similar)
- Comfortable using hand tools and working with mechanical/electrical components
- Valid driving licence
- Good problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills
- Strong customer service skills
Desirable:
- Printer/MFP experience (but we'll train the right candidate)
- Basic understanding of networks or IT systems
- Experience with print management software or PaperCut (full training provided)
How To Apply:
- Submit your application directly through Indeed
- If we like what we see, we'll invite you to a 30-minute meet & greet interview
- We promise quick updates on your application status
