Experienced Housekeeper / Estate Couple Required
Private Country House – Near Ombersley, Worcestershire
We are seeking a responsible, capable and enthusiastic housekeeping couple (or exceptional individual) to join our family at a beautiful private country house near Ombersley, Worcestershire.
We are a professional family with two school-aged children and four friendly dogs, living in a seven-bedroom period home set within approximately 60 acres of gardens and grounds.
This is a varied, hands-on role requiring individuals who take genuine pride in maintaining a well-run home and estate. The successful applicants will be proactive, organised, trustworthy and able to work closely with the principals to ensure the property is maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Daily cleaning and presentation of the house
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
- Household organisation and general tidiness
- Receiving, unpacking and storing deliveries
Hospitality
- Assisting with occasional food preparation and kitchen support
Driving & Household Support
- Airport and railway station transfers
- Running errands and household shopping
- Assisting with family logistics as required
Estate & Property Maintenance
- General maintenance and minor repairs
- Window cleaning
- Supervising contractors and deliveries, particularly when the family is away
- Assisting the part-time gardener when required
- Caring for chickens
- Caring for dogs
- Helping maintain the gardens, grounds and swimming pool
About You
We are looking for people who:
- Have previous experience working in a private household or country estate
- Are practical, resourceful and self-motivated
- Possess a positive, flexible and "can-do" attitude
- Enjoy country living and are happy around dogs and animals
- Are honest, discreet and highly trustworthy
- Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in their work
- Work well as part of a small team alongside our existing staff
- Hold clean driving licences (preferred)
A good sense of humour, common sense and a willingness to help wherever needed are qualities we value highly.
The role will occasionally require weekend or evening work to support family events or entertaining, with flexibility given in return where appropriate. We are open to discussing part-time or flexible working arrangements, provided key responsibilities are covered.
