We are looking to add to our team at John Watt Catering
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in food preparation to contribute to a dynamic dining environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent kitchen organisation, adhere to food safety regulations, and deliver exceptional service to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items to enhance our offerings alongside our head chef
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure ingredients are fresh and available
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Uphold food safety standards at all times, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of ingredients
- Support training of junior kitchen staff and interns as required
- Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and within designated timeframes
Qualifications
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
- Experience with restaurant operations and serving procedures is advantageous
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Formal culinary training or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates
This role provides an excellent platform for passionate chefs eager to develop their skills within a vibrant culinary team.
This positition will also require some shifts at other sites with in the business a chance to learn other skills.
Succesful applicants will ideally have there own transport.
