Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and metal fabrication, with a keen eye for detail and safety. Duties
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Perform various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and arc welding to assemble and repair metal components.
- Fabricate metal parts by cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools and machinery.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring all tools are in good working order.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Assist in the development of fabrication processes to improve efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a welder or fabricator within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding and metal fabrication.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Relevant certifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Welding or Fabrication are desirable but not essential.
- Physical fitness to handle lifting heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
