Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Handyman/Woman/Maintenance professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of facilities and equipment, ensuring smooth operations across our premises. This role requires a versatile individual with maintenance experience. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment across three sites, Blackthorn Health Centre, Hedge End Medical Centre and Bursledon Surgery.
Duties
- Carry out general repairs including fixing equipment, minor maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Replace and maintain lighting such as bulbs, fittings, and simple electrical tasks within competency.
- Transport waste and unwanted items to the local tip as required.
- Install and mount items including pictures, noticeboards, shelving, and small fixtures.
- Assist with decorating tasks such as painting, touch‑ups, and basic cosmetic improvements.
- Respond to leaks and minor plumbing issues, escalating when specialist support is needed.
- Support with ad‑hoc tasks and odd jobs to help keep each site running smoothly.
Skills
- Strong practical and problem‑solving skills
- Experience in general maintenance or a similar role
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Good communication and time management
- Full UK driving licence and own transport essential
Pay: £15.00 per hour
