We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner/Room Leader to oversee daily operations within our childcare setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with management and leadership skills to make a positive impact on young children's development while guiding a team of early childhood practitioners. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about early childhood education and childcare.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursery room team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth daily operations
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding regulations at all times
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages children's curiosity and learning
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding their child's progress and any concerns
- Organise staff rotas, monitor performance, and facilitate ongoing professional development for team members
- Contribute to the overall organisation of the nursery, including maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Strong management and leadership skills with previous experience leading a team
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent)
- Valid driving licence is desirable for operational flexibility
- Passionate about child development, safety, and creating a positive learning environment
Pay: £14.00 per hour
