Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to develop their skills within the healthcare sector. The successful candidate will support the financial management processes, assist with accounts payable, and gain valuable experience in providing management financial reporting. A degree level qualification, combined with a willingness to learn are essential for this position.
Hours: full-time (37.5 hours a week), Monday-Friday
Reporting to: Finance Analyst
Responsibilities
In no particular order, the type of responsibilities and duties are outlined below:
· Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
· Monitor key performance indicators and identify variances.
· Reviewing and responding to account payable and account receivable queries as required.
· Processing invoices and ledger entries into accounts as required.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data.
· Ensure data accuracy and maintain financial platforms.
· Assisting with the budget and forecasting processes.
· Daily banking, payment allocation and updating of cash receipts.
· Assist with Debtor management tasks.
· Liaising with private medical insurers and responding to billing queries.
· Improve financial processes and internal controls.
· Introduce new and improved management information for clinic performance evaluation.
· Responsible for issuing the weekly dashboard data set with commentary to managers and, assisting with business development, which includes project appraisal and developing business cases.
· Assist with audits and compliance requirements.
· Communicating effectively with people in the business, external stakeholders, and patients.

Experience
- Recent graduate with min of a Upper Second Class degree, ideally within a financial discipline.
- Basic knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
- Experience or familiarity with accounting software is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a professional presentation
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Eagerness to learn about healthcare regulatory standards and practices
- Prior experience in accounts payable or financial management roles is advantageous but not mandatory
