Role Outline:
The Driver is required to drive a HGV vehicle to deliver goods to customers and may be required to drive Company vans to complete deliveries.
Working Hours:
- 40 hours per week (guaranteed average)
- Monday to Friday
- Driving hours and breaks in line with the Driver Regulations (max 48hours/week)
Hourly Rate:
The hourly rate of £17.01 includes a discretionary bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake daily vehicle checks using the AssetGo App.
- Complete manual entries on the tachograph unit.
- Comply with current European Union (EU) and Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
- Ensure that fluid levels are correct.
- Check the load security on a daily basis.
- Drive in a safe manner within current speed limits allowing for local conditions.
- Check off items against delivery sheets.
- Communicate any issues with deliveries to the Customer Services team.
- Liaise with customers regarding estimated time of arrival.
- Collect cheques from customers (as required).
- Liaise with the Logistics Department regarding any challenges experienced.
- Ensure the interior of the vehicle is kept clean.
- Manual unloading of goods at customer locations.
- Occasional overnight stays may be required (supported with a £50 taxable night-out allowance)
Person Specification:
- Valid UK Driving licence (essential).
- Class 2 HGV licence (essential).
- Previous experience of driving a HGV vehicle (desirable)
- Valid Tacograph card.
- Valid Driver CPC card.
- Ensure that a professional image is portrayed at all times.
- Excellent attention to detail.
