Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations, providing excellent customer service and ensuring shelves are fully stocked with products.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
- Maintain the organisation and presentation of merchandise on the shop floor
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management
- Provide product information and upselling suggestions to maximise sales opportunities
- Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and process payments efficiently
- Answer customer queries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Support visual merchandising standards to enhance store appeal
- Ensure the store remains clean, tidy, and well-organised throughout the day
- Manage time effectively to prioritise tasks during busy periods
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with a friendly phone etiquette
- Must be able to work early mornings (7am starts) and/or late nights (10.30pm finish)
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Experience in merchandising or retail is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed promptly
- Ability to not just work as part of a team, but independently also
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products and enhance customer experience
- Full driving licence desirable
