I am seeking a motivated and skilled Motor Mechanic to work alongside myself. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on cars and vans.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify required repairs or replacements.
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct maintenance on diesel and petrol engines.
- Service and repair vehicle electrical systems, including batteries, alternators, starters, and lighting.
- Perform tyre fitting, balancing, wheel alignment, and brake inspections.
- Complete MOT preparation work and rectify defects to ensure vehicles meet legal standards.
- Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Test drive vehicles where appropriate to verify repairs and ensure roadworthiness.
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer guidelines, health and safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all times.
- Use workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting equipment safely and correctly.
- Work efficiently to meet workshop productivity
Experience
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role in vehicle or equipment repair
- Strong understanding of schematics, mechanical systems, and assembly processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair tasks
- Knowledge of equipment repair including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and welding processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship
- Prior experience in customer service is a plus but not mandatory
Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
