Objective:
To take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Kiln Café, you will lead the café team, deliver a consistently excellent customer experience and ensure the café is well organised, commercially focused and maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the Kiln Café team – set clear expectations, motivate the team and lead by example during day-to-day service.
2. Deliver excellent customer service – make sure every customer receives a warm welcome, friendly service and a consistently positive experience.
3. Run the café day to day – take ownership of opening, closing, service, tills, bookings, stock and the general organisation and presentation of the café.
4. Manage staffing and rotas – ensure we have the right people working at the right times while managing staffing costs in line with the needs of the business.
5. Recruit, train and develop the team – make sure team members are properly inducted, trained, supported and understand the standards expected of them.
6. Maintain excellent standards – ensure the café is clean, welcoming and well presented and that food hygiene, allergens and health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
7. Work closely with the kitchen – ensure front of house and kitchen work together effectively to provide a smooth, efficient service.
8. Drive sales and control costs – take an active interest in café performance, look for opportunities to increase sales and help control staffing costs, stock, waste and unnecessary expenditure.
9. Take ownership and solve problems – deal confidently and professionally with customer concerns, staffing issues and operational problems as they arise.

- Comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility.
- Level 3 food safety & hygiene qualification (or winningness to obtain this within an agreed period)

This is very much a hands-on-role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of the day-to-day operation, leading from the front and taking ownership of their team and the performance of the cafe.
Pay: £25,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
