We have an exciting opportunity to join the Flying Start Team in the Children, Young People and Families Directorate as Flying Start Team Leader with responsibilities including leading on Speech, Language and Communication, and Parenting.
As a senior member of the Flying Start leadership team, you will manage one of four locality-based Family Support Teams, lead on specialist areas of delivery, and directly oversee the management and service delivery of two Flying Start hubs to ensure high-quality, impactful services. The post will also provide strategic leadership for the authority’s Speech, Language and Communication and Parenting approaches, ensuring evidence-based practice is embedded and delivering measurable outcomes for families. You will also deputise for the Flying Start Manager when required, representing the wider programme at senior forums and influencing strategic direction across partnerships. This role offers the opportunity to shape innovative, data-driven practice, strengthen early intervention and prevention approaches, multi-agency collaboration, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families through the delivery of Welsh Government priorities, the Child Poverty Strategy, and the wider ACEs prevention agenda.
