THE ROLE
At Good Times Pubs & Bars, we are seeking an experienced Marketing + Events Lead to head the Marketing and Events Department across our growing group of venues.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for departmental strategy, team management, marketing performance and the successful planning and delivery of public events.
You will manage the Graphics + Socials Manager, Private Parties + Ops Support Manager and Business Engagement Manager, while coordinating external marketing support and maintaining a close working relationship with venue leaders and the business owner.
The role requires someone who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery. You will establish clear priorities, improve accountability, strengthen campaign planning and ensure that marketing and events activity contributes directly to revenue growth.

Good Times Pubs & Bars is an independent pub group based in Brighton, Hove and Worthing. The group’s story began with the renovation of The George Payne in 2012, which went on to win Best Turnaround Pub of the Year in 2013. Since then, the business has grown steadily and now operates nine community-focused pubs:

SKILLS NEEDED FOR THE ROLE
● Significant experience in a marketing, events or commercial leadership role.
● Proven experience managing a team.
● Experience developing and delivering marketing strategy.
● Experience managing paid digital activity across Meta and/or Google, either directly or
through external agencies/specialists.
● Strong understanding of event planning and commercial event performance.
● Experience within hospitality, leisure, retail, food and beverage or a multi-site environment.
● Demonstrable ability to improve team accountability and productivity.
● Strong project management and organisational skills.
● Commercially focused, with confidence analysing revenue, campaign and event data.
● Experience managing agencies, freelancers or external suppliers.
● Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
● Ability to make decisions and set clear priorities.
● Comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands-on delivery.
● Experience managing budgets.
● Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, websites and customer
engagement.
● Calm and constructive approach to managing competing views and difficult team
dynamics.
● Proactive, resilient and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
● Passion for hospitality, events and creating memorable customer experiences.
