New Coningsby Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Dispensary Assistant to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in dispensing. If you do not already hold the required qualification, you will be supported to complete the Level 2 Support Staff Course for Dispensing Assistants.

As a Dispensary Assistant, you will work alongside our experienced dispensary team, supporting the safe and efficient running of the dispensary while completing the Level 2 Support Staff Course for Dispensing Assistants (if required).
Your duties will include:

Receiving prescriptions and processing prescription requests.

Assembling prescribed items under the supervision of qualified dispensing staff.

Assisting with the issuing of prescribed items to patients, following practice procedures.

Handling telephone calls and patient enquiries in a professional and helpful manner.

Maintaining accurate patient records in line with confidentiality and data protection requirements.

Ordering, receiving, checking and maintaining pharmaceutical stock, including stock rotation and monthly stock audits.

Supporting the wider dispensary team with administrative tasks to ensure an efficient service for patients.
You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 18:30, on a rota basis. Flexibility is essential.
We are looking for someone who is:

Willing to complete the Level 2 Support Staff Course for Dispensing Assistants (if not already qualified).

Organised, accurate and able to follow procedures carefully.

Friendly and approachable, with excellent customer service skills.

Confident using IT systems (training will be provided where required).

A team player with good communication skills.
-
A driver with access to transport (essential due to travel between our sites).

Support to complete the Level 2 Support Staff Course for Dispensing Assistants, where required.

Ongoing training and mentoring from our experienced Dispensers and Dispensary Lead.
