Job Overview
We are relaunching an established Hockley site as a new Indian restaurant. We need a Restaurant Manager to run front of house and make sure every guest has a great experience. You'll be the face of the business day to day, working alongside the Head Chef and reporting to the owner.
About the role
Full-time hands-on management role covering the floor, the team, and the numbers. Evening and weekend availability required.
What you'll do
- Run front-of-house operations — service standards, bookings, covers and customer experience
- Recruit, train, rota and manage front-of-house staff
- Handle customer feedback and complaints, resolving issues quickly and well
- Manage daily cash-up, takings reconciliation and till/POS administration
- Oversee compliance with the premises licence, including responsible alcohol service
- Maintain health & safety and cleanliness standards across the restaurant
- Support local marketing and promotion to build the new brand in the area
- Own front-of-house budgeting and cost control, working with the owner on P&L
- Liaise closely with the Head Chef to keep service running smoothly
What we're looking for
- Proven management experience within a high volume Indian restaurant with a focus on supervising teams.
- A calm, organised approach to a busy service
- Strong background in Indian food production, cooking, food preparation, and culinary techniques.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative environment.
- Deep understanding of Indian food safety standards and health regulations applicable to restaurants.
- Experience in supervising food service operations including serving processes and barista experience is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate between kitchen staff, servers, suppliers, and guests.
- Personal alcohol licence holder, or willing to obtain one
- Comfortable with POS systems, cash handling and basic financial reporting
- Right to work in the UK
