Responsibilities
- Support Social Impact: understand and support the organization's mission and contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive space.
- Be proactive to maintain a consistent smooth service, and a clean and safe environment
- Contribute to a welcoming space where guests feel comfortable and keen to return
- Deliver quality coffee standards, or bring the passion to learn our ways
- Be a supportive team player who values inclusivity, trust and collaboration
- Be enthusiastic to learn about our retail products and share your coffee knowledge with customers
- Handle food safety procedures diligently, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times
- Be very organized. Keep your work area clean at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Willingness to work different shifts, including weekend shifts, is required
About the position
This is a full-time position, minimum 30 hours per week
This role is primarily Monday to Friday. While the shop is usually closed on weekends, there may be occasional opportunities to provide weekend cover
Our operating hours are 8:00–16:00 and 8:00–17:00 , with shifts starting as early as 7:30 and finishing between 16:30/17:30pm
From time to time, you’ll also have the opportunity to support events, with prior notice given so you can plan ahead
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for coffee and a good understanding of specialty coffee
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A commitment to sustainability and social impact causes
- A creative and positive attitude
