Thrive Shepton are delighted to be working with our client in Yetminster, who are actively recruiting for Abattoir Operative on a temporary to permanent basis to join the team.
Responsibilities:

Ensure carcasses are dressed and trimmed according to ABP and customer specifications, as directed by the Production Supervisor

Ensure work is carried out to the best of the operative's ability to meet production deadlines
-
Ensure all parts of the carcass are trimmed to achieve optimum production yield while adhering to legislation and company requirements
-
Maintain responsibility for the operational effectiveness of equipment and machinery and report any faults to the Supervisor in a timely manner
-
Demonstrate high levels of animal welfare at all times

Work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
-
Carry out all procedures in a safe manner in accordance with Health & Safety legislation

Full training will be provided
Do you have:

The ability to work under your own initiative

The ability to work effectively as part of a team

A high level of attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed operating procedures

The ability to follow instructions, particularly those relating to personal Health & Safety and the wearing of PPE

Good physical fitness, as the role involves a substantial amount of physical activity

A can-do attitude with good communication skills
-
A basic understanding of verbal and written English
Working Hours:
-
0700-1700 - Monday to Friday
-
40 hours per week
-
Including 2 x 30-minute breaks
What you will receive in return:
