Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester / vehicle technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards in addition to carrying out repairs and routine servicing on a broad range of cars and light commercial vehicles. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. The MOT Tester/ vehicle technician will play a crucial part in maintaining our commitment to high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
- Inspect vehicles for safety, roadworthiness, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Document findings accurately and provide clear reports on the status of each vehicle tested.
- Communicate with customers regarding test results, necessary repairs, and recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained.
- Carry out routine servicing on a range of cars and light commercial vehicles
- Carry our a range of repairs to cars and light commercial vehicles.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester/ vehicle technician or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during inspections or repairs.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring all tests are conducted thoroughly and accurately.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in vehicle testing are highly desirable.
