Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Delivery Van Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and packages to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. Duties
- Safely operate a delivery van to transport goods to multiple locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload packages, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
- Verify delivery addresses and documentation to ensure accuracy before dispatching and upon receipt
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and keep the van in optimal condition for daily use
- Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, pickups, mileage, and fuel consumption for record-keeping purposes
- Assist in warehouse activities as needed, including inventory management and organizing stock for efficient dispatch
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role with a focus on commercial driving
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating vans or similar vehicles preferred
- Strong knowledge of local roads, navigation skills, and ability to plan efficient routes
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physical demands of loading/unloading packages
- Warehouse experience is a plus, especially familiarity with inventory handling and organization
- Demonstrated responsibility in maintaining vehicle safety standards and adhering to company policies
