We are looking for an organised, proactive individual who enjoys working at pace, thrives on variety, and is keen to grow alongside the business. Experience within the food industry, FMCG, international retail markets, or supply chain environments would be highly advantageous, particularly within both corporate and growing SME settings.
This is a varied, admin-focused role where you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day running of the business. No two days will be the same, and flexibility, attention to detail, and a willingness to support across different areas of the company are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate records across orders, shipments, logistics, and operational data
- Track and update logistics information, including delays, schedule changes, and shipment updates
- Communicate operational updates clearly and efficiently to senior management and internal teams
- Support coordination between suppliers, logistics partners, customers, and internal departments
- Assist with administrative support across operations and all areas of the business
- Ensure documentation and reporting are kept accurate and up to date
- Follow up on outstanding actions and help ensure timelines are met
- Provide ad hoc support across multiple departments as required
- Work collaboratively with all team members to support the wider business needs
SYSTEMS & TOOLS
The role will involve regular use of business systems and digital platforms including:
- Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications
- EDI systems
- Retailer portals and customer platforms
- Internal operational and reporting systems
- General digital administration and communication tools
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE / ABOUT YOU
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Able to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure
- Proactive and capable of working on your own initiative
- Confident asking questions and checking details to ensure accuracy
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across different departments
- Flexible and team-oriented approach with a willingness to support wherever needed
- Experience within the food industry, FMCG, logistics, supply chain, or international retail markets would be advantageous
- Experience working within both corporate businesses and growing SMEs is highly desirable
- Competent using Microsoft Office and digital business systems
- No prior seafood experience required
WORKING STYLE
- Office based in Newcastle/York
- Flexibility is occasionally required to support global suppliers and North American customer accounts
