The Role
The Regional Trainer will deliver high-quality learning and development across Milewood services, supporting employee induction, mandatory training, competency and ongoing professional development.
Extensive regional travel is an essential part of the position and may require overnight stays depending on operational and training needs.
Essential Requirements
- Experience delivering training, coaching or learning within adult social care, health or a related environment.
- Good knowledge of learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health support.
- Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.
- Ability and willingness to physically teach, demonstrate and assess Restrictive Physical Intervention (RPI) skills as part of practical training delivery.
- Ability to safely participate in the physical elements of RPI training, including demonstrations, practice and competency assessment.
- Understanding of person-centred practice, safeguarding, dignity, choice and positive risk taking.
- Ability to adapt learning for employees with different levels of knowledge and experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational, administrative and record-keeping skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, digital systems and learning platforms.
- Ability to manage an independent regional training schedule.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to undertake extensive travel across Milewood services.
Desirable Requirements
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent.
- Assessor qualification or competency-assessment experience.
- Previous experience delivering PBS/RPI or other accredited physical intervention training.
- Experience delivering adult social care mandatory training.
- Knowledge of the Care Certificate and Skills for Care frameworks.
- Learning Management System experience.
- Experience supporting services to improve training compliance.
- Experience within a multi-site organisation.
- Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training facilitator experience.
- PBS or behaviour-support experience.
This role will be subject to a Enhanced against the barred list DBS check.
